As barometric pressure rises and falls at different points of history, educational skies become clear or obscured by clouds. Depending on the climate of our moment, it can often be difficult for higher education institutions to see themselves beyond the reactive haze they are currently navigating. And yet the field of education is best poised to create the societal transformation required for this moment: to take the long view by gesturing into the transformation that is needed rather than continuing to strengthen education-as-usual. The sky is heavy, the fog thick—but we believe in building lighthouses, not just weather reports.

The future of higher education is critical and we all know it—supporters and critics alike. We work with educational institutions and accrediting bodies to see their work as positive disruptions for this moment by building the capacities, skills, and visions to navigate collectively within and outside institutions. We invite those administrators, faculty members, and staff we work with to be the disturbance in the patterns and structures their position can affect.

Senior administrators face many of the most daunting and demanding leadership challenges of their institutions. While skills-based offerings abound for these roles, we saw a need for spaces that enhance leadership capacities to navigate the messiness of paradox, complexity, conflict, and uncertainty. With thinkers from the field joining each workshop as provocateurs and guides, we’ve designed a workshop series that dives into rather than passively observes this critical moment for higher education. We hope you will join us for one or more workshops to co-learn and co-develop with other esteemed administrators from institutions around the world.
